This is who we are
Forager Creative was born from a desire to make great design while, at the same time, introducing underexposed local talent to the professional marketplace. It’s often a struggle for freelance artists and writers to find work, particularly in a down economy. At Forager Creative, we seek out graphic designers, writers, photographers, and other local artists to work on individual projects that are suited to their particular talents and trades. We have a small full-time staff, but a very large, amazingly diverse coalition of creative people at our disposal.
The upshot for the client is top-notch professional design at prices that are more affordable since we lack the overhead of a traditional design company. Great design is great whether it comes from a veteran artist with 22 years of experience or a 22-year-old designer fresh out of school. We employ both.
The guiding vision behind everything we do is that of founder and resident edibility expert, Rob DeBorde. Over the past two decades, Rob has worked as a graphic designer, art director, cookbook author, television writer, and animator of cartoon octopuses. Rob’s culinary creations can be found on bookshelves (Fish on a First-Name Basis), television (Alton Brown’s Good Eats), magazine racks (Gourmet, Every Day with Rachael Ray), and online (Deep Fried, Live! with Tako the Octopus). He also had a hand in designing the San Jose Sharks logo and team jerseys, but you’re not supposed to eat shark (Seafood Watch).
